where was he when?
The headline reads "Republicans accuse Obama of exceeding authority", surely a remarkable claim and thanks to MercuryNews.com for bringing this report to my attention. Here's an extract from the story by AP writer David Espo:
Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky said the action was part of a pattern of "indifference to the rule of law on the part of this administration. ... He did it with immigration. He did it with welfare work requirements. And he did it with the NLRB when he took it upon himself to tell another branch of government when it was in recess. And now he's doing it again with his own signature health care law," said McConnell, who is seeking re-election next year in a state where Obama is unpopular.
I want to know where Mr McConnell raises objection to the unconstitutional spying on US citizens by the NSA. And where was Mr McConnell when former President Bush was prosecuting undeclared wars in Iraq and Afghanistan (which of course Obama has continued)?
Oh wait, never mind, because Mr. Epso makes it all clear later in the story
Whatever the merits of the Republican claims, they sometimes include a dose of politics of the sort they accuse Obama of playing.
Thank goodness it is only politics - I almost came to the conclusion that Mr McConnell and his ilk are simply power hungry sociopaths.
